GoodLuck and Youngr, are thrilled to announce their African electronic collaboration on the brand-new single ‘Would I Lie To You Baby’.

South Africa / London – April 2025 — South African chart-toppers GoodLuck have teamed up with UK multi-instrumentalist and live-looping sensation Youngr to deliver a fresh, disco-infused, and feel-good reimagining of a classic: ‘Would I Lie to You Baby’. With infectious basslines, and undeniable nu-disco flair, this collaboration breathes new life into the iconic track—primed for both UK & Europe summer festivals and late-night dancefloors.

Originally penned by Charles & Eddie in the early ’90s, the new version takes a bold sonic leap into the world of Purple Disco Machine, Chromeo, and Daft Punk—complete with modern production polish and a nostalgic twist. GoodLuck’s signature electronic groove meets Youngr’s vibrant instrumentation and soulful vocals, making for a track that’s as heartfelt as it is danceable.

“We’ve been wanting to collab with Youngr for years,” says Juliet Harding of GoodLuck. “His energy and musicianship is insane, and when we decided to rework this classic, we knew he was the perfect fit to work on it with us. So when we were in Wales on tour in the UK we spent a few days with him at his Llama Land studio and the song was born… it was super free, effortless and it just seemed to flow out of us!”

“I grew up on this song,” adds Youngr. “It’s got that timeless hook, and teaming up with GoodLuck gave it a whole new life & vibe. It’s groovy, it’s a little bit cheeky, and it absolutely slaps.”

The groups also recorded a collaborative live performance video, shot on a dramatic clifftop at Slangkop in Kommetjie—a breathtaking, windswept session that captures the raw magic of the track. The video is set to drop in the coming weeks.

The release follows a high-energy tour across South Africa, where GoodLuck and Youngr co-headlined the vibrant Splashy Fen Festival, thrilling thousands of fans.
