We’re stoked to welcome Jeremy Loops and Damon Forbes as our partners. As the second oldest festival in South Africa, Up The Creek, has been running for 30 years and having these guys on board brings a wealth of expertise and fresh ideas to the table. With their extensive industry experience, we can’t wait for them to help enhance the experience for die-hard Creekers while attracting a new wave of festival-goers. Together, we’re going to be weaving an awesome tapestry of tradition and innovation” – Annie Sowden, Festival Founder & Co-Owner
‘’I’ve had some of my most unforgettable performances at Up the Creek, and I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve now joined the festival’s team. This isn’t just any festival to me. It’s a gathering that’s proudly South African, where one of the nation’s most picturesque rivers meets the country’s top local talent. I’ve always been drawn to Up the Creek’s dedication to local acts over international names. It’s all about embracing and uplifting our unique music scene. And, honestly, floating on a lilo all day on the Breede River? That’s just the cherry on top. I couldn’t be happier about buying-in and am eager to work alongside this incredible team, helping to elevate a festival that has already achieved so much.’’ – Jeremy Loops
‘’I feel that the music festival environment perfectly captures living in the moment with music. So it’s been a long term ambition to get more involved in festivals. Up The Creek holds a special place in my heart. It’s hosted SA’s best artists at a breathtaking venue, and truly captures the essence of what makes live music special. It’s an honour to join and support the team behind this truly iconic festival’’ – Damon Forbes, BreakOut Events Founder

Established in 1990, the music festival has grown from strength to strength and now returns in 2024 after a 3 -year Covid hiatus. It has always remained intimate (limited to only 2,500 Creekers) and filled with great local music, good food, short queues, and a whole lot of gees.

Next year’s festival is set to take place between 8-11 February 2024, at the much-loved, original farm on the banks of the Breede River just outside of Swellendam in the Cape. By now, Creekers know they’ll be getting some of the freshest sounds on the local music scene The festival is now calling all their loyal Creekers who have made the vibe what it is today, to grab their festie-besties and join in celebrating the return of the ultimate outdoor music festival.
