
RnB Sensation Tracy J, Reclaims His Peace In New Single “Energy”
Atlanta’s rising R&B artist Tracy, J has just released his new single, “Energy,” a song that captures the exhaustion and frustration of unrequited love. Originally crafted as a potential pitch for pop legend Janet Jackson, producer and co-writer Quintin “Arsnøvä” Pooler held onto the track for years until one conversation revealed that Tracy J could bring a unique and personal dimension to the song.

“When Quintin shared it with me, I felt an instant connection,” Tracy J explains. “The song resonated deeply with my style and message, so I knew I had to make it my own.”
“Energy” explores the emotional clarity that comes after realizing a relationship has taken more than it’s given. Tracy J describes the track as “a raw, post-breakup reflection,” an anthem for anyone ready to reclaim their peace and let go of what’s been holding them back.
Collaborating with industry veterans, the song was produced by Quintin “Arsnøvä” Pooler, known for working with artists like Harmony Samuels and Jaden Smith, and mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Jose Cardoza, who’s worked with the likes of Ariana Grande and Ciara.
Tracy J’s sound blends classic R&B with a modern edge, combining timeless emotion with innovative production. “I aim to create a sense of nostalgia while still pushing boundaries,” he shares. His previous work, including the singles “Intrigue,” “Right Here,” and “Vacay,” showcases his knack for both soulful introspection and fresh musical direction. Tracy J also executive-produced the soundtrack for the feature film Life Ain’t Like The Movies, collaborating with music legend Seven Bailey and featuring stars like Paul Bates and Cynda Williams.
Raised in Atlanta and influenced by his gospel roots, Tracy J’s early exposure to music began with singing and playing keys in church. Classically trained at Oral Roberts University, he toured with the gospel group Souls A’Fire, where he developed his distinct sound that infuses R&B with soulful storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Babyface, Brandy, and Prince, Tracy J also has big aspirations for the future. “I would love to work with Alex Isley, Jazmine Sullivan, and Nomfundo Moh,” he says.
