As October approaches, anticipation is building for what is set to the be an explosive return for internationally acclaimed South African-based music and lifestyle festival Rocking the Daisies, since 2019.
Steyn Entertainment, the festival’s custodian, previously announced that this year’s events – happening between 7-9 October – will feature over 70 musical acts playing across four carefully curated stages, in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Today #JWxRTD officially introduces the Heineken House stage, brought to you by the festival’s official beer partner Heineken.
Not only will this unique experience include all the exciting elements that attendees of Heineken House have come to love, the experience will be elevated by a cross-continental partnership that will display artistic and cultural exchange in its highest form.
A curated collaboration between Johannesburg-based record label and management company STAY LOW (home to names including Bontle Modiselle, Zoocci Coke Dope, Priddy Ugly, lordkez, among others) and Dreamville artist Bas-lead collective The Fiends, the Heineken House stage will host a range of local and international musicians, DJs and special live experiences in an unprecedented exhibition of creativity.
Shannon Valstar, Steyn Entertainment General Manager explains, “A collaboration like this is significant, especially now, because of the intersection that South Africa finds itself with respect to the global market. As Rocking the Daisies, we’ve always taken pride in being a place to celebrate our diversely dynamic musical arsenal, but also be a platform through which collaboration can organically occur. We are particularly pleased to be doing it with a brand as esteemed as Heineken because of the culture they bring to everything they do. This is a big one for us,” Valstar adds.
“Connecting the world to what is happening on the African content is a marquee value of our ethos. I believe STAY LOW is at the forefront of music culture on the continent. The Fiends have always been family. We’re really excited about bringing these two worlds together.”, adds Vaughn Thiel, label head at STAY LOW.
The stage render, designed by Bad Weather Productions, offers a glimpse into the futuristic design that will host the anticipated experience.
