ABOUT SIKELELA FESTIVAL
Established in 2024 to mark 30 years of our country’s freedom, Sikelela is a celebration of South Africa’s rich heritage through dance and music. It unites us in positive energy and inclusivity, providing a diverse platform for all ethnic groups.
Iconic Venue
Held at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg, known for its historical significance, the festival allows attendees to experience music against the backdrop of the city’s rich history. It aims to highlight the importance of preserving Johannesburg as a key economic hub and a melting pot for the creative sector.
Economic Impact
Sikelela strives to have a positive economic impact on Johannesburg by attracting music enthusiasts, boosting tourism, and supporting local businesses. The festival’s ethos includes socially conscious initiatives, promoting small businesses, and advancing creative disciplines within the music and entertainment industry.
Diverse Line up
The festival showcases established and emerging artists from various backgrounds, fostering unity and cultural appreciation. This inclusive approach contrasts with the prevailing trend in the events landscape, which often divides consumers based on ethnic identity rather than affordability or musical preference.
